Education is called the backbone of society because it plays an important role in achieving sustainable development and promoting the social, cultural, historical and holistic development of every country.
The education system contributes, among other things, to the development of Sri Lanka by producing competent graduates, professional or technical experts and responsible citizens with social and cultural values, all of which improve the quality of a country’s workforce.
Ekwayamu is involved in the following areas:
- Providing students with the essentials for attending kindergarten or school. For example, by providing bags, writing materials, laptops and uniforms.
- Covering the fees for children’s kindergarten attendance
- Providing scholarships to the best children from rural areas to enable them to pursue their higher education.
- Developing local and international workshops for preschool children and school students to develop their talents and provide them with opportunities.
