In rural Sri Lanka, orphans are often left unnoticed. They are seldom supported and are
exposed to the risk of being exploited and or abused. Ekawayamu aims to uplift the lives of
these vulnerable children.
Ekawayamu Registered Organization is a development organisation that has been striving to provide children in poverty with a better life. Their projects ensure that poverty-stricken children have access to food, education and medical care.
With the generous funding of EkwaYamu, we organised a food drive at the Dharul Hikam Arabic College & Orphanage in recently. The project was carried out with the support of Compassion Asia and Youth Inspire, while Bespoke Holdings and Eight Star Power Rent a Car Private limited provided logistical support. It was implemented by the One Year in Mission Sri Lanka.
This Orphanage was situated at Khatagasdigiliya Ihala Halmillawa Mukkiriyawa Village. This food drive provides food for 55 children and 7 staff members. Many other orphanages in rural areas of the country are in need of dire help and are often left unseen.
